The St. Francis Choir finished the season with a concert featuring the Five Mystical Songs of Vaughan Williams with Keith Perry, soloist and Jonathan Dimmock at the organ. The concert also featured grand motets of the renaissance, works by Clemens, Taverner, Mouton, Tomkins, Purcell and others.
The Fall Season will include a special Liturgy of Music on Sunday, November 13 at 7pm, featuring the Palestrina Missa Aeterna Christi Munera sung in the setting for which it was intended. The annual Concert of Carols will be sung on Sunday December 11 at 3pm. Both events are at St. Francis Lutheran Church, 152 Church St. in San Francisco.
The St. Francis Choir joined forces with the choirs of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lafayette for a great Concert of Carols on December 12th in Lafayette and on December 19th in San Francisco. Our Savior's handbell choir Bellissimo added to the festivities. There were plenty of carols and good cheer all around for the standing room only audience.
