The St. Francis Choir is a small, accomplished group made up of professional and avocational singers. The choir, under the direction of Dr. David Schofield, sings an eclectic repertory of the finest choral music, much of it a cappella, Gregorian chant and latin polyphony through contemporary.
The 2011 repertory includes the Five Mystical Songs of Vaughan Williams and selections from Herbert Howells Requiem and works of Brahms, Bach, Palestrina and others, as well as arrangements of shape-note hymn tunes and some Russian chant. The choir will give three concerts this year in addition to the Sunday morning liturgies at St. Francis Lutheran Church.
